Chris Christie: Hillary Clinton Started The Insults And Bigotry, Not Trump

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie thinks Hillary Clinton is responsible for introducing bigotry and divisive language into the presidential election campaign. Speaking on ABC, Christie was answering a question about Trump’s accusation that Hillary Clinton is a bigot.

“I’ll tell you this. This type of discourse in the campaign is just unwarranted, but it was started by Mrs. Clinton,” Christie said. “Mrs. Clinton has started the idea of calling Donald Trump those type of names, and the fact is that once you are the person, and Mrs. Clinton is the person, who injected this type of commentary into this race you can’t then sit back and start complaining about it or have some of your handmaidens in the media complain about it.”

Trump is well known for using names to deride his opponents. He refers to Clinton as ‘Crooked Hillary’ and has called reporters ‘untalented’ and ‘stupid’. He often refers to major newspapers as ‘failing’ and being filled with lies. Christie is also no stranger to name calling and his attempt to blame Clinton for the divisiveness in the campaign is unlikely to help Trump’s image.
