Katrina Pierson Strikes Again! Trump Spokeswoman Says Obama Invaded Afghanistan

A week after a senior Trump campaign staffer told CNN that they were “fixing it” regarding spokeswoman Katrina Pierson’s habit of getting historical facts wrong, the vapid ex-shoplifter was back at it. Speaking to CNN’s Victor Blackwell Saturday morning, Pierson claimed President Obama was responsible for invading Afghanistan.

Yep. In Pierson’s world, an Illinois State Senator was the one who made the call to go into Afghanistan in 2001. Of course, she directly blamed Obama for the death of Capt. Humayun Khan in 2004 which also occurred while the current POTUS was in the Illinois state legislature. So, how exactly did we get to this particular flub?

Well, Pierson was doing what she does best — incoherently arguing with someone both smarter than her and in command of basic facts. Going back and forth with Blackwell on Trump’s recent “founder of ISIS” comments, Pierson was struggling to stay on message regarding her latest talking points. She was attempting to argue that Obama’s decision to pull troops out of Iraq, along with assisting with regime change in Libya, directly led to the rise of ISIS.

However, because this is Katrina Pierson, everything quickly fell apart, leading to a bemused Blackwell asking her if she really meant what she said. Prattling on, the Trump spokesgoblin stated, without any sense of irony, “Remember, we weren’t even in Afghanistan by this time. Barack Obama went into Afghanistan, creating another problem.”

This led to Blackwell asking, “You’re saying Barack Obama took the country into Afghanistan post-2009?” Katrina’s answer: “That was Obama’s war, yes.”

Alrighty then. The look on Blackwell’s face said it all. He told Pierson that he needed to go to break, but that he’d have her on in the next block to clear some things up. After the break, Pierson was mostly protesting and claiming that all she was trying to talk about was ISIS. But the damage was done.

On Twitter, immediately after the segment, #KatrinaPiersonHistory began trending. The sad thing…this isn’t the first time it has trended this month.

It was looking like a week ago that Pierson would be reprimanded or even fired for her embarrassing gaffes on live TV. However, when your candidate makes up shit on a daily basis, getting easy facts wrong is a feature that gets rewarded in this campaign.
