Fox News Ignored Benghazi Mom’s Speech Then Claims Other Networks Didn’t Show It

On Monday morning, Fox & Friends’ resident morons tried to nail the lamestream media over its blatant liberal bias. Instead, all they did was prove that they don’t watch their own goddamn network.

As highlighted by The Daily Beast’s Matt Wilstein, co-hosts Brian Kilmeade and Steve Doocy tried to come to Donald Trump’s defense in his self-made negative news story regarding the Khan family. In the two guys’ view, the media has focused way too much attention on Khizr and Ghazala Khan’s emotionally charged DNC appearance and not enough towards Pat Smith’s RNC speech the week before, in which she personally blamed Hillary Clinton for killing her son Sean.

From Wilstein’s piece:

“Sean Smith lost his life in Benghazi and it was one week earlier at the Republican convention where Pat Smith directly and personally blamed Hillary Clinton for her son getting killed,” Doocy said. “And why isn’t this getting coverage?”

“I was on the floor for that,” Kilmeade added. “I did not know that no networks covered her. Nobody covered those remarks live but almost everybody covered Khan’s, Mr. Khan’s remarks live.”

Yeah, only one problem with that. Both CNN and MSNBC showed Smith’s speech in pretty much its entirety. Meanwhile, Fox didn’t show a minute of it live. Why? Because Bill O’Reilly decided to use that time to interview Donald Trump, that’s all. (Time that Trump used to bash the governor of the state that was hosting the convention.)

Even worse? Because Republicans tuned into Fox News in huge numbers during the RNC, especially on that first night when Smith spoke, most of the intended audience completely missed out on it, all because of Fox’s decision to skip it. As Wilstein points out, during that hour of coverage, Fox’s audience was larger than CNN and MSNBC combined.

This is especially important because on that first night of the RNC during the 8 p.m. hour when Smith spoke, Fox News had more viewers than CNN and MSNBC combined. During the 9 p.m. hour on the final day of the DNC, when Khan delivered his remarks, Fox News came in a distant third place in the ratings behind those two networks. That means that while upwards of 10 million people saw Khan speak on cable news alone—not including the millions more who have since watched online—less than 5 million saw Smith.

Yep. Fox only has itself to blame for Pat Smith’s ‘Hillary killed my son’ speech not getting a wider audience.

But it is even more embarrassing that Kilmeade and Doocy think it was the other networks that dropped the ball on this. They believe the double standard exists with CNN and MSNBC. Yet they don’t even pay attention to the shit Fox News plays on a daily basis. This is easily verifiable stuff, something a producer can yell into their earpiece to say “NO! That’s WRONG!” but here we are.
