Fox Contributor Insists There’s A “Race War Going On” Because Obama “Never Ran A Business”

When it’s the end of the day, and you’re in desperate need of a fix to feed your Obama Derangement Syndrome, you can always count on Sean Hannity to provide the hit your body craves.

During Friday night’s broadcast of Hannity, the square-headed Trump acolyte brought on Fox News contributor and walking thumb Bo Dietl to provide some very thoughtful, well-reasoned and fact-based analysis. And by that, I mean Dietl spewed some Obama-bashing spittle about community organizing, race wars and the annihilation of the United States as we know it.

During a panel discussion that included certified nutjob and Trump adviser Walid Phares, Dietl decided to weigh in on the president’s lack of business experience and use that as the main reason why he believes there’s a “race war going on.” Apparently, the former NYPD detective was very upset that POTUS said Trump’s evidence-free claims that America is in collapse “don’t jive with the facts.”

From Media Matters’ transcript of the segment:

BO DIETL: Sean, it doesn’t jive. You know what doesn’t jive? This man was able to get a great education in Harvard. He’s never held a job, he was a community organizer. He was a United States Senator for 15 seconds, a United States Senator for another five seconds. He becomes the President of the United States. He’s never ran a business.

He doesn’t know what in the hell he’s doing, and cops are dying around this country. We have a division. We have a race war going on, a division between the cops and our inner cities. And what does he say? This is jive? This is not jive. We’ve got young kids dying, I’ll guarantee you tonight in Chicago, a young African-American will be killed tonight, that’s jive Mr. President?

SEAN HANNITY (HOST): That doesn’t fit the narrative that goes through the prism of race that president seems to always want to advance.

OK, let’s just unpack a little of what Dietl spat out. First, it is patently untrue that Barack Obama never held a job in his life. From 1992 to 2004, he taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago. He also worked for a law firm in Chicago during that period, spending three years as an associate and an additional eight years of counsel. From 1996 to 2004, while with U of C and the firm, he also served in the Illinois Senate. Oh, and yeah, he was a ‘community organizer,’ which is, in fact, a REAL FUCKING JOB.

But, beyond that, how does running a business prevent a so-called race war? Can someone please answer me that? How does declaring bankruptcy four times and telling Meat Loaf that he’s fired prove that Donald J. Trump can improve race relations in this country? I’m curious.

Finally, though, the fact that supposedly serious news programs — I know, Hannity, but he’s presented as serious — are now just tossing around the term ‘race war’ indiscriminately is disturbing. Obviously, this is what Trump wants through Election Day. His acceptance speech at the RNC was essentially a call for whites to take their country back from a growing minority population. And now he has defenders and loyalists hitting the talk shows spreading the word to whip up fear, anger and hatred.

This is a real bad time, folks. No kidding aside. And it is only going to get worse the closer we get to November.
