Uh, Come Again? Trump Calls America A “Divided Crime Scene” After Baton Rouge Shooting

You can always leave it to Republican standard-bearer Donald J. Trump to provide a sober, thought, mature response to a horrific tragedy. After news broke that three police officers were killed in a shootout in Baton Rouge, and President Obama gave yet another national address regarding a shooting, the presumptive GOP nominee shot out the following tweet.

Um, OK? What does that even mean?

Obviously, with every tragic event that occurs in not only this country but the world, we have come to expect that the former reality TV star will try to opportunistically use the incident to cash in politically. Generally, it will always be some form of ‘Crooked Hillary and/or Obummer are to blame because of their disastrous leadership’ followed by ‘we need to be SMART AND TOUGH’ and then #MakeAmericaGreatAgain.

But, this, this makes no sense, even for those who speak fluent Trumpian. Just look at these reactions.

I want to expand a bit on what Marshall just stated there at the end. Trump just knew that he had to give some kind of unhinged response to the situation. Why? Because his fans demand it. He has nearly 10 million Twitter followers and many are just waiting for him to pick up his phone and send out his unadulterated mind-farts regarding whatever the news cycle is focused on.

Don’t tell me he doesn’t get a thrill when he sees a bunch of likes and retweets. He’s actually discussed this before, about how lots of social media shares and comments means people people agree with him, so he must be right. This is dangerous behavior, and not something that should even be remotely associated with the officer of the presidency.

Yet, here we are. We are perilously close to giving command of this country to a raging third-grader with impulse control issues, whose campaign manager has admitted lets his emotions get the best of him at times of stress, and yet our mainstream media and political establishments are just whistling past the grave.
