Donald Trump Superfan Tells CNN That “Riots Aren’t Necessarily A Bad Thing”

For some reason, perhaps to test the sanity of the cable news viewing public, CNN loves to have die-hard Donald Trump supporters on at least once an hour. (Usually, more often that that.) Whether it is CNN’s official paid Trumpkins like Jeffrey Lord or Kayleigh McEnany, official Trump spokesperson Katrina Pierson, or a wide range of other sycophants, nary a segment can go by without getting an opinion from the Land of Trump.

During one such segment on Wednesday afternoon, conservative political commentator and avowed Trump acolyte Scottie Nell Hughes spoke with bearded Jell-O mold Wolf Blitzer about Trump’s earlier comments about potential violence at the GOP convention. In case you missed it, The Donald said that there would be riots in Cleveland if he went to the convention with a plurality of delegates but wasn’t given the nomination.

Blitzer wanted to know If Hughes could defend that kind of language from the GOP frontrunner. And damn if Ms. Hughes wasn’t up for Wolfie’s challenge!

“The majority, the plurality, the people, the majority of the population have voted for Mr. Trump. And the obvious moves that will be made by the establishment Republican Party to keep him from this nomination, that right there would cause anger. And that would be an obvious backhand to all the people who have been paying attention and who have been engaged in this political process.

So you know, riots aren’t necessarily a bad thing if it means we’re fighting the fact that our establishment Republican party has gone corrupt and decided to ignore the voice of the people and ignore the process.”

Wolf, taken aback, gave Hughes multiple opportunities to walk back that statement. She kinda did, saying that she felt the Trump supporters wouldn’t result to true violence, but more have an emotional outburst. Sounds legit to me.

Anyway, as Crooks & Liars’ Karoli Kuns stated on Wednesday, you can just bet Hughes likely wasn’t singing this same tune during the protests in Ferguson and Baltimore, and that words have no meaning anymore.

Speaking for me, I’ll just say that it’s ironic to see the blonde-haired blue-eyed lady from Nashville sing the praises of riots in the streets while I’m fairly certain she would have simply been horrified at the scenes coming from Baltimore and Ferguson.

We now live in times where up is down, fights are great, riots aren’t bad things, and all that matters is the will of a few white people who are angry that they’ve lived in a country where an extraordinarily smart and talented Black guy has been president for 8 years.

And, lo and behold, using the Google machine, we can see just what Hughes thought about the civil unrest in those cities. In August 2014, shortly after demonstrations flared up in Ferguson, Hughes wrote that gun owners should be happy because it proved we needed firearms to protect us from “violent protesters,” and likened them to ISIS. Regarding the violence in Baltimore last year, she was part of a panel of three blond white women on Fox Business saying how there needed to be better parenting in the inner-city to prevent rioting.

So, yeah, I’m sure rioting is perfectly fine in her eyes, as long as it is being conducted by white folks and not those violent thugs in the ghetto.
