After Obama’s Iran Speech, Fox’s Andrea Tantaros Says He “Took A Blame America” Approach

President Obama, in an effort to build support for the nuclear deal America and other countries reached with Iran last month, made a speech on Wednesday at American University detailing why the deal is good for both the United States and the international community. During the speech, the President pointed out that American risks losing credibility if Congress votes to renege on the conditions of the deal. He also stated that many of those who oppose this agreement with Iran are the same ones who pushed so vehemently to invade Iraq back in 2002 and 2003, and that they are apparently comfortable with military action against Iran.

From the speech:

“If Congress kills this is deal, we will lose more than just constraints on Iran’s nuclear program or the sanctions we have painstakingly built. We will have lost something more precious: America’s credibility as a leader of diplomacy. America’s credibility as the anchor of the international system.

None of these arguments hold up. They didn’t back in 2002 and 2003 and they shouldn’t now. The same mind-set, in many cases offered by the same people who seem to have no compunction with being repeatedly wrong, led to a war that did more to strengthen Iran, more to isolate the United States, than anything we have done in the decades before or since.”

As one would expect, immediately after Obama concluded his hour-plus speech, the Fox News talking heads chimed in with their patented ‘Obummer hates ‘Murica’ rhetoric. Thankfully for Fox viewers, Outnumbered was the scheduled program as Obama wrapped up his remarks, allowing Viagra-fueled old geezers to gawk at some skin while satiating their Obama Derangement Syndrome. They weren’t left disappointed as co-host Andrea Tantaros and former MTV VJ Kennedy tossed them out some big ol’ slabs of red meat.

After #OneLuckyGuy Jonah Goldberg had given a typical conservative response to Obama’s speech, Tantaros jumped right into the ‘President is un-American’ pool by using the tried and trued approach of saying that POTUS is blaming the United States for ongoing turmoil in the Middle East and Iran. According to the perpetually pucker-faced pundit, she didn’t like that “the President took a blame America tact, stating that it was our mindset that got is into the war with Iraq.” (Ummm, ya know, it kinda was, Andrea.) She really wanted Obama to blame terrorism for the Iraq War and said that all he did was embolden Iran and the ayatollahs moving forward. Basically, just another Fox News Conservative Word Salad ™. (But, she had a pen in her hand, so total smart person.)

Not to be outdone, Kennedy took the softball pitched to her by lead host Harris Faulkner and crushed it over the fence. Faulkner highlighted that the President’s speech was held at the same place John F. Kennedy made a landmark address in 1963 regarding the nuclear arms race with the Soviet Union. She also pointed out that Obama referenced that speech in his own. That was all just an easy setup for Kennedy to smugly utter an obligatory “Obama is no JFK” line while dissecting his remarks. The former D-list celeb was very happy with herself after delivering her total takedown of the President.
