Larry Wilmore Blasts Trump’s ‘Spokesgoblin’ Katrina Pierson ‘As The Bullshit Pours Out Of Her Mouth’
Larry Wilmore took Donald Trump and his team to task last night on The Nightly Show. He criticized Trump calling on Second Amendment activists to stop Hillary Clinton appointing liberal justices to the Supreme Court. Wilmore savaged Trump’s surrogates for defending him.
“You’re joking about your political opponent being whacked?” Wilmore said in disbelief after showing the now infamous clip of Trump’s gun comment. “At this point, if you vote for Trump, you’re just a dick. Seriously” he told his audience to loud cheers. “There’s no possible way this could be misinterpreted,” he added.
Wilmore then turned to a clip of ‘Trump’s chief spokesgoblin’ Katrina Pierson and invited the audience to watch ‘as the bullshit pours out of her mouth’. Wilmore showed a CNN interview where Pierson claimed Trump had not said what was reported.
“That is what he was talking about,” Wilmore said. “I don’t care how convoluted your explanations. We’re not stupid, we can hear. Stop trying to explain him away.” Wilmore then reviewed the ‘turd taco’ of Trump defenders, including Rudy Giuliani and Congressman Duncan Hunter. Hunter claimed Trump was merely inarticulate, in stark response to Trump’s own claims about having ‘the best words’.
“Just to be clear, you’re argument is that Trump is so incoherent he can’t be held accountable when his words might constitute a federal crime,” Wilmore asked. Cutting to a clip of Rudy Giuliani’s ‘impotent rage’, Wilmore could barely hide his disbelief at Giuliani’s claim that the ‘Clinton spin machine’ had created the story out of nothing. “He’s blaming us for hearing exactly what Trump said.”
Wilmore also criticized Giuliani for hypocrisy, pointing to his previous claims that Black Lives Matter rhetoric actually puts police lives in danger. “When Trump calls for the violent death of his opposition, that’s just Clinton spin,” Wilmore said. “But when it’s Black Lives Matter, they’re literally killing people with the power of their ‘hypnotizing negro language'”.
Wilmore finished the segment with a serious warning about the power the president’s words can have. “Once you’re president, everything you say has meaning,” he said. “I don’t care how much they spin this. Stop being so careless with your language.”
