Top Georgia Republicans Resist Trump’s Calls to Overturn State’s Election Results

Several of Georgia’s top Republicans appeared on Sunday’s news shows to resist calls by President Trump to have their state’s election results overturned.

Gabriel Sterling, Georgia’s voting system implementation manager, responded to Trump’s comments in Georgia on Saturday.

“The president’s statements are false, they are disinformation, they are stoking anger and fear among his supporters,” he said on Meet the Press. “And hell, I voted for him.”

Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said on ABC’s This Week that “we don’t see anything that would overturn the will of the people.”

Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan, meanwhile, told CNN’s Jake Tapper that the election “fair,” adding conclusively that Trump “did not win the state of Georgia.”

Trump appeared in Georgia this weekend to hold a rally for two Republican Senate candidates whose races will decide the balance of power in the upper chamber of Congress.
