Nicole Wallace: Trump Campaign Fears Kamala Harris Would ‘Chew Up and Spit Out’ Mike Pence

MSNBC host Nicole Wallace said Thursday that she’s heard that the Trump campaign is most concerned about Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) being chosen as Joe Biden’s running mate.

Biden is expected to announce his selection in the next week or so, with the two top contenders being Harris and former United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice, according to a report this week from Axios, citing more than a dozen people close to the former vice president.

The Trump campaign is “most anxious about Senator Kamala Harris, that she could just chew up and spit out Mike Pence,” Wallace said, likely due in part to her prosecutorial background. Harris was Attorney General of California for six years, and before that was District Attorney of San Francisco for seven years.

“Obviously that’s not the only criteria for Joe Biden,” Wallace continued. “But just from the psychological impact that that choice would have on the Trump campaign, it seems they’re already psyched out and they have sort of opposite frame around their ‘more debates are more’ strategy for Donald Trump.”

The vice presidential debate is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7 at the University of Utah.
