Fox’s Jedediah Bila Says Trump Should Speak Off the Cuff: ‘That Is His Strength’

Fox News’ Jedediah Bila argued on Wednesday that President Donald Trump performs well when he speaks spontaneously but that Vice President Joe Biden doesn’t. Bila was guest host the network’s flagship morning show Fox & Friends.

The hosts had spent some time over the course of the show criticizing Biden and contrasting him unfavorably with the President. Bila suggested that the presumptive Democratic nominee would have to appeal to hard left voters, whom she claimed had backed Senator Elizabeth Warren.

“What you want in an election are two highly contrasting images. I always say that you want to give people the choice so you can really see where the country stands,” Bila said.

“Remember, Joe Biden took a lot of heat in the primary for not being strong enough when it came to environmental issues. For not being strong enough on the issue of climate. So he’s coming out now. He needs to excite that base. He needs excite the hard left of his party. Many of those voters who may stay home and say you know what? It’s not Elizabeth Warren. It’s not someone with a real progressive agenda, who may feel Joe Biden has been in politics for a really long time, made a lot of promises and hasn’t gotten a lot done.”

Later in the discussion, Bila claimed President Trump’s vamping in press conferences and speeches as a strength.

“Steve, you pointed out the lack of response to questioning or Joe Biden not doing questioning, yeah, because he’s terrible at it,” Bila said.

“That’s not what he does well. His handlers know that. What they want is for him to get out there, deliver talking points, hope they stick and to get off the stage because he hasn’t been doing well when he is off the cuff just responding spontaneously.”

“Donald Trump, on the other hand, that is his strength. So he wants to get out there and have these debates. You’re gonna see that distinction for the next few months and I think it will be really interesting when they’re on something like a debate stage together if that ever happens to see a pretty bold contrast not only in presentation but in content and ideas.”
