Trump Will Hold Campaign Rally Outdoors in New Hampshire This Saturday

President Donald Trump is plowing ahead with reelection rallies despite the threat from the Coronavirus pandemic. The Trump campaign announced late Sunday that the President will be holding an open air rally in New Hampshire on Saturday, 11 July.

The event will take place at Portsmouth International Airport at 8pm Eastern and Covid-19 safety measures will not be mandatory. However, “there will be ample access to hand sanitizer and all attendees will be provided a face mask that they are strongly encouraged to wear,” according to the campaign.

“We look forward to so many freedom-loving patriots coming to the rally and celebrating America, the greatest country in the history of the world,” said Hogan Gidley, Trump 2020 national press secretary.

New Hampshire has shown a decline in the number of Coronavirus cases, while much of the rest of the country is continuing to see a worrying increase. Nearly 130,000 Americans have died from the pandemic so far and spikes have been reported in several states.

President Trump narrowly lost New Hampshire in the 2016 presidential election but it’s not clear why the state would be a target in 2020. Though polling in the state is limited, likely due to its few electoral college votes, former Vice President Joe Biden enjoyed a commanding lead in June.
