Joe Scarborough Mocks Trump: ‘Testing for the Coronavirus Doesn’t Actually Kill People’

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough explained on Tuesday that testing for Covid-19 doesn’t give people the disease. The Morning Joe host was responding to President Donald Trump’s claim that if the U.S. simply stopped testing, the virus would go away.

Scarborough and co-host Mika Brzezinski showed a clip of Trump’s remarks at the top of the show.

“If you don’t test, you don’t have any cases,” Brzezinski mocked. “What does he mean? ‘Cases’, like officially, because people still have it.”

“And they’re dying of it,” Scarborough said. “The remarkable thing is that the United States now has 115,000 people who have died.”

“117,” Brzezinski corrected.

“117,000 people who have died of Coronavirus. And Donald Trump keeps saying that if we don’t test for the Coronavirus then it will magically go away. We won’t have any more cases.”

“Actually, testing for the Coronavirus does not kill people. That’s just like saying, you know, pregnancies are — pregnancies would be driven down to zero if we stopped having pregnancy tests.”
