Fox’s Brian Kilmeade Suggests Trump ‘Gets Very Little Credit’ for Not Acting Like a Dictator

Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade offered some unusual praise of President Donald Trump on Thursday. The Fox & Friends co-host appeared to suggest that Trump wasn’t getting enough credit for refusing to use the Coronavirus pandemic to expand his own powers.

Kilmeade’s comments seemed to be an attempt to defend the President’s actions and justify leaving some key measures up to state governors.

“Meanwhile as people look around and watch us, many of them are some of the 280 million now living at stay at home orders. That now includes Florida,” Kilmeade said.

“The President says, listen, I’m not gonna mandate it because every state is different and I think the President has been remarkably measured,” he went on.

“People like to criticize him and say he wants all the power and he likes dictators. Every time he has an opportunity to take massive control, especially after a pandemic like this in which all bets are off, he pushes back and lets other people take the lead in the areas they know best. He gets very little credit for that.

Kilmeade’s co-hosts Steve Doocy and Ainsley Earhardt maintained blank expressions as he praised the President for not seizing power. They quickly moved away from the topic.
