Tucker Carlson Appears to Subtweet Trump and Fox News Colleagues for ‘Minimizing’ Coronavirus Crisis

Fox News host Tucker Carlson appeared to take aim at both President Donald Trump and many of his Fox News colleagues—without naming them, of course—on Monday night for downplaying the impact of the growing coronavirus outbreak, calling the pandemic a “very serious problem.”

Carlson kicked off his primetime Fox News program by highlighting the latest number of reported coronavirus cases in the United State, noting that the real number of Americans infected is “without question far higher” and that we’ll soon “have a better sense of just how much higher.”

“People you trust, people you probably voted for, have spent weeks minimizing what is clearly a very serious problem,” he asserted. “It’s just partisan politics, they say. Calm down. In the end, this was just like the flu and people die from that every year. Coronavirus will pass. And when it does, we will feel foolish for worrying about it. That’s their position.”
