Fox’s Ainsley Earhardt: African Americans Don’t Support Sanders Because He’s ‘So Different’ from ‘Many of the Church Teachings’

Reverend Jess Jackson endorsed Senator Bernie Sanders over the weekend and the hosts of Fox & Friends seemed perplexed by his decision. Fox host Ainsley Earhardt went so far as to suggest that African Americans don’t support Sanders because of their religious beliefs.

“Suddenly Joe Biden seems unstoppable in many ways,” co-host Steve Doocy said. “Well, yesterday, while he was looking, Bernie Sanders finally got a big endorsement with civil rights icon Jesse Jackson endorsed Bernie Sanders because, back in 1988, Bernie Sanders actually endorsed Jesse Jackson when he was running against Michael Dukakis.”

“I was surprised by that because usually the African-American community is behind Joe Biden, not Bernie Sanders,” Earhardt said.

“Because he’s so radical and so different than what many of the church teachings teach and that kind of thing,” she said.

“So I was really shocked by that but Jesse Jackson won Michigan back in 1998 when he ran and got Bernie’s endorsement.”
