CNN Hires Andrew Yang as a Political Commentator

Andrew Yang is joining CNN as a political commentator. The Democratic presidential candidate exited the race following the New Hampshire primary but now he’ll have the opportunity to offer his opinion on the race as it enters its’ most vital stages.

I’m excited to join CNN to help shed light on the election and the candidates’ experiences,” Yang tweeted. “Learned a lot these past months and am glad to contribute to the public discussion.”

Yang enjoyed something of a cult following during his campaign, with his so-called ‘Yang Gang’ lighting up social media and consistently arguing that he could surprise everybody with his success. Yang is a businessman who campaigned on the issue of universal basic income.

Yang will make his first appearance in his new capacity on Wednesday. The move comes as the Democratic candidates are due to take to the debate stage, where they’ll be joined by former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg for the first time.
