John Solomon, Former ‘Hill’ Journalist Embroiled in Ukraine Scandal, Launches New Media Site

John Solomon, the journalist who has been at the center of the Ukraine story, is launching a new news site and has issued a statement on Cision’s PR Newswire, a site used to recruit journalists and other media professionals. Solomon is most famous for publishing articles for The Hill newspaper accusing former Vice President Joe Biden of wrongdoing in Ukraine.

Solomon’s new venture will be called Just the News and will offer ‘honest journalism’. Solomon’s articles were deeply flawed and used to advance a false narrative on Ukraine and Biden, leading to his eventual departure from The Hill.

“Today, award-winning journalist, media commentator, and digital media innovator John Solomon announced the creation of a new media outlet called Just the News, that will address the growing need for fact-based, impartial news and compelling digital content,” the release says.

“JusttheNews.com will deliver exclusive news, podcasts, books, polling and video content showcasing some of the most respected and trusted journalists and editors in news media today.”

Interestingly but not surprisingly, Solomon’s new site will reportedly feature content from Peter Schweizer, author of the conspiratorial book Clinton Cash, in addition to contributors who have worked at conservative Sinclair Broadcasting, the Christian Broadcasting Network and National Review, respectively.

“True journalism has been on the decline for years as major media companies have built business models that push agenda-driven news, click-bait content and opinion masquerading as fact, fueling mistrust and contempt from the American people,” Solomon is quoted as saying.

“As the fallout from the recent Russia collusion narrative exposed, journalists today too often rush to get their stories first and then are left to hope they are right.”
