Donald Trump Jr.: Visiting Arlington Cemetery Made Me Think of My Family’s ‘Sacrifices’

Donald Trump Jr. writes in his new book that visiting Arlington National Cemetery made him think of the things his own family has suffered since his father began running for president. In Triggered, Trump Jr. says seeing the final resting place of many of America’s fallen heroes put him in mind of his own experiences.

The first family went to Arlington to watch President Donald Trump lay on a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknowns. This event inspired a passage in Trump Jr.’s book about his family’s ‘sacrifices’.

I “rarely get emotional, if ever”, Trump Jr. writes in the book but his visit to Arlington made him feel “importance of the presidency and a love of our country.”

“In that moment, I also thought of all the attacks we’d already suffered as a family, and about all the sacrifices we’d have to make to help my father succeed—voluntarily giving up a huge chunk of our business and all international deals to avoid the appearance that we were ‘profiting off the office.'”

Reaction to the excerpt from Trump Jr.’s book has been overwhelmingly negative with social media users pointing out that the Trumps have never sacrificed in the way those buried at Arlington Cemetery have.
