One of Trump’s Favorite Polls Shows His Approval Fell to Just 43%

One of President Donald Trump’s favorite polling companies reports that his approval rating has fallen dramatically in one week. Rasmussen, which is frequently cited by Trump for its favorable ratings, said on Thursday that his approval is now at 43%.

This is a significant fall of 7 points from a high of 53% in September, according to Rasmussen’s own numbers. Rasmussen generally shows out sized approval for the President and skews conservative generally, which has led to criticism from other pollsters.

Rasmussen’s presidential daily tracking poll also reports that 45% of Americans now strongly disapprove of Trump, with only 32% strongly approving.

Trump frequently cites Rasmussen polls as evidence of his high approval rating. The vast majority of reliable pollsters do not accord with Rasmussen’s findings. The President has even tweeted graphics about these polls.

This sudden change in poll numbers from a usually reliable outlet could indicate that conservatives and Republicans should be worried about changing public opinion on Trump.
