Fox’s Ed Henry: Trump Is ‘Probably Licking His Chops’ to Face Sanders Because of His Heart Attack

Fox News’ Ed Henry thinks President Donald Trump would like to run against Senator Bernie Sanders because Sanders’ recent heart attack will make him less active on the campaign trail. Henry was filling in on the Fox & Friends‘ couch on Thursday.

“Well, running for 2020 a second time around Bernie Sanders. Remember he came close to knocking out Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary, sort of shocked the Democratic establishment as a democratic socialist,” Henry said.

“Remember, he just had to leave the campaign trail because of that heart attack. And when he came back, he started saying, you know what? I did too many rallies. I might have to slow down. And some of his supporters had a lot of raised eyebrows.”

Fox & Friends host Ainsley Earhardt explained that Sanders was changing the nature of his campaign, perhaps by doing fewer events.

“Well, you know what? That caused problems because it’s like people look at it and say wait, something must be the matter if he’s pulling back on things” co-host Steve Doocy said.

The hosts then showed a clip of Sanders speaking about the issue and assuring people he would continue to campaign.

“Isn’t it interesting that Bernie Sanders had been in the previous comments saying, you know,  I used to do four rallies,” Henry said.

“Remember when Donald Trump in 2016 was doing six, seven, eight and saying Hillary Clinton doesn’t have the stamina to keep up with me. So he’s probably licking his chops to face somebody like Bernie Sanders saying it’s kinda hard work, I don’t know if I can get through with this. And I think it’s blown up in Bernie’s face.”

“He should be able to deal with any health issues he has and get off the campaign trail and do it. But he’s under pressure from supporters who gave him all these millions of dollars, saying are you in this fight or not?”
