Charlamagne Tha God Blasts Biden for Avoiding His Show: Suffers From ‘White Entitlement and Privilege’

Popular radio host Charlamagne tha God took Democratic presidential frontrunner Joe Biden to task on Friday for ducking his program, accusing the former vice-president of acting like an “old school white male” who believes he already has the black vote in his pocket.

During a CNN appearance on Friday afternoon, The Breakfast Club host first took a shot at the Trump administration, pointing out to anchor Brooke Baldwin that he isn’t going to be impressed by record-low black unemployment because he feels like the “soul of the country needs to change in 2020.”

“When you end up with the regime with the president that’s a fascist, the person that’s going to be affected the most is going to be black and brown people because we always get the short end of the stick in America,” he said. “I don’t want to be under a regime like that. When you look at somebody like Trump, it’s like okay, who’s next to be in those cages? It’s not going to be people that look like you. Probably people that look like me. So jobs aren’t enough.”

Baldwin then pivoted to Biden, noting that he is currently leading the Democratic field largely due to African-American support while asking Charlamagne why he thought the former veep was attracting black voters.

“Because he was the vice president to the first black president,” he responded. “I think it’s more bro-ism than anything.”

After Charlamagne explained that Biden has supported policies in the past that were detrimental to the black community, Baldwin wondered if he had extended Biden an invitation to appear on his show, especially since it is a “go-to spot” for Dem candidates.

“Joe Biden has offered to send his surrogate,” he replied. “So that tells me a lot about what Joe Biden thinks about our audience. I think Joe Biden might be suffering from that same white entitlement and privilege and ego where he’s just that old school white male who feels like ‘Hey, man, they need me, I don’t need them.’ Or, ‘I got them already.'”

“So, yeah, my surrogate, my black male surrogate, you go talk to them. That’s not respect,” Charlamagne added.

He went on to say that he would absolutely welcome Biden if he was willing to show up, as he’d love to ask Biden about the 1994 crime bill and the eulogy he gave at former segregationist Strom Thurmond’s funeral in which he called Thurmond a “great man.”

“We all evolve, we all grow and we all can learn from our mistakes, I just haven’t heard him say that those things were mistakes yet,” he concluded.

This isn’t the first time that Charlamagne has accused the former vice-president of suffering from white privilege. Appearing on CNN in July, the radio host attributed Biden’s repeated gaffes and inability to admit mistakes to “old white male entitlement.”
