Trump Used El Paso Visit to Massacre Victims to Brag About His Large Rally Crowd
President Trump’s staff did not allow reporters into the hospitals in Dayton and El Paso during his visits with victims of the gun massacres on Wednesday. The reason, allegedly, was that the White House did not consider these visits to be photo ops.
Then of course the White House released its own videos that made Trump the center of attention and pushed a narrative that the victims and hospital staff had been overwhelmed with gratitude and love for the president.
So it took a civilian in the hopsital in El Paso to give the public another glimpse of Trump’s visit, one in which the president bragged about the size of the crowd he attracted at a rally in the city a few months ago and sneered that Beto O’Rourke’s own rallies are much smaller:

The consoler-in-chief indeed.
Trump has been angry at O’Rourke all week, as the former congressman and current Democratic presidential candidate has been highly critical of the president’s racist attacks on undocumented immigrants that appear to have helped motivate the El Paso shooter.
