Trump Accuses Media of Getting Leaks From Mueller While Simultaneously Claiming They Make Up Sources

President Trump began his Sunday morning by raging on Twitter against his favorite target — the press. At the same time, while whining about his belief the “Fake News Media” makes up sources, the president also claimed that Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team has been “illegally leaking” to the media.

“Looks like Bob Mueller’s team of 13 Trump Haters & Angry Democrats are illegally leaking information to the press while the Fake News Media make up their own stories with or without sources – sources no longer matter to our corrupt & dishonest Mainstream Media, they are a Joke!” Trump tweeted.

So which is it, Mr. President? Is the media making up stories and sources? Or are they receiving “illegal” leaks from Mueller’s investigators? Can’t really be both, you know.

In the immediate aftermath of Attorney General William Barr’s four-page memo of Mueller’s report that found there was no criminal conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia, the president and his allies spent days spiking the football.

With calls by Democrats to see the entire report, however, Barr released another letter noting that his original summary wasn’t actually a summary and that the report was roughly 400 pages and would be released in mid-April after the redactions process.

Members of Mueller’s team, meanwhile, told associates that Barr “failed to adequately portray the findings of their inquiry and that they were more troubling for President Trump than Mr. Barr indicated,” per the New York Times and other outlets.
