Hannity Claims He Was Never Michael Cohen’s Client…And Cohen Apologized to Him

Despite previously acknowledging that he had an “informal” legal relationship with former Trump attorney and “fixer” Michael Cohen, Fox News primetime star Sean Hannity insisted Thursday morning that he was never a client of Cohen’s. Furthermore, he claimed that Cohen personally apologized to him for having named Hannity as his mystery third client in court last year.

During Cohen’s public House Oversight Committee hearing Wednesday, the longtime Trump associate was never asked about his relationship with the Trump-supporting Fox host. Even though his name never came up regarding the April 2018 revelation that Cohen represented him, Hannity addressed the issue, unprompted, during an appearance on Fox & Friends.

“He apologized for once,” Hannity told the curvy couch crew. “His attorney, in court, said I was his client. That was never true, in any capacity. He apologized to me, and I did appreciate it.”

Following the explosive court announcement last year, Fox News said Hannity their “full support” even though they were “unaware” of the star’s “informal relationship” with Cohen. Hannity — who had interviewed Cohen numerous times and talked about the Trump attorney repeatedly on air — denied that Cohen represented him as a lawyer but acknowledged that he sought out his advice on real estate.

Furthermore, the White House shadow chief of staff said on his radio show that he “might have handed him 10 bucks” when he told Cohen “I definitely want your attorney-client privilege on this.”
