Of Course: Trump Says Robert Kraft Has Totally ‘Proclaimed His Innocence’ on Prostitution Charges

It is always interesting to see which criminal suspects get the benefit of the doubt with Donald Trump and which are all but fitted for prison jumpsuits the minute they are indicted.

And by interesting, I of course mean it is obvious.

Here is Trump, speaking to reporters in the Oval Office Friday afternoon, answering a question about the charges brought against his friend and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft for soliciting prostitution in a massage parlor staffed by sex trafficking victims:

“Well it’s very sad. I was very surprised to see it. He’s proclaimed his innocence totally. But I’m very surprised to see it.”

Contrast that to the news that Jussie Smollett was charged with one count of filing a false police report, a charge to which he also proclaimed his innocence:

Trump’s billionaire white buddy gets the benefit of the doubt. The African-American who claimed two Trump supporters attacked him does not. Even though both men at this point get the presumption of innocence under our legal system.

Obvious.
