Fox & Friends Guest: African-Americans’ Real Enemies Are Black Elitists, Not White Supremacists

Former NFL Superbowl champion Burgess Owen appeared on Fox & Friends Friday morning to discuss the rise in viewership of NFL games, which the Fox News show attributed to the decline in national anthem protests. The protests have waned since they were started by NFL player Colin Kaepernick.

Rather than discuss the NFL directly, Owen, who is now an author, railed against what he sees as the enemies of the African-American community in a segment that seemed to catch even the Fox & Friends hosts off guard. Owen was asked why he thinks NFL ratings have gone up recently.

“Well, it is going up because Americans do what we do best. We move on,” Owen said. “When we think we’ve won a battle, we move on and build our lives and build our future and live the American dream. What we have to remember and this is, I think, the biggest take away from the last two years, we are in the fight for the heart and soul of our nation.”

“We fight for our American … the Judeo-Christian values and fighting against an evil force of socialism and Marxism that destroy everything they come close. The NFL has been changed forever and people don’t realize. There used to be a place we come together, no matter what our political persuasion was and there was unity because we had God, country and we had family.”

“The Marxists and socialists have made this so we have young people coming out of these environments, they are anti-American, they are anti-white, they are anti-capitalist and this is the message that now is going around the world and throughout our communities – that this is a place that’s not for black Americans. That’s what they’ve accomplished the last three years,” Owen claimed.

Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade mentioned Reverend Al Sharpton, Colin Kaepernick and Rihanna among people who had supported the protests, before throwing the conversation back to Owens to discuss socialism.

“We have been on attack for over 100 years. It’s an ideology that is actually as evil as it comes,” Owens said. “It destroys our belief in God, family. You look at the American black community, which once led our country in the commitment to marriage and commitment to education, to entrepreneurship, when I was growing up. That has turned totally upside down because we have these black elitists, particularly, the ones you just mentioned, that care less about our communities. They care about their profits and their profitability and their prestige. And that’s what elitists do. That’s what socialists do. They care less about the American –  the black community. If they would, we wouldn’t be in the mess we are today.”

“I have watched as I have grown up the impact of the socialists. Our greatest enemy is not white supremacists. It’s black elitists. Those who live the American dream, who get a job for $100,000 a year as politicians and come out of there as multimillionaires.”

“They betray their own base, the people who believe in them, they give them up to get their ideology in place,” Owens said, before promoting his book. “At the end of the day, it’s all about education. Education. ‘Ignorance and free can never be-‘ -Thomas Jefferson. We need to educate ourselves and realize we will need to fight for the heart and soul of our country. And we do that by knowing who the enemy is and it’s not each other, it’s the socialists, Marxist and liberals that are destroying our country.”
