CNN Panelists Bust Out Laughing After Trump Loyalist Claims POTUS ‘Has Pretty Thick Skin’

One would think that even the most sycophantic Trump defenders would concede that the president has somewhat tin skin. All one has to do is look at his Twitter feed and see that Trump cannot even any slight go unanswered and that he’ll obsessively air grievances weeks, months, or even years after a perceived insult.

Yet, during Sunday’s State of the Union, CNN political commentator and Trump loyalist David Urban insisted that Trump is a “tough guy” who can “take it,” causing the rest of the panel to shake their heads and laugh.

With the panel discussing the revelation that Acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney called Trump a “terrible human being” back in 2016, host Jake Tapper asked Urban if it is “possible that president Trump didn’t know about that quote and will see it and then get upset about it.”

“I’m sure the president knows that people say bad things about him,” Urban replied. “He has pretty thick skin.”

Immediately, the panel burst out in laughter while liberal panelist Symone Sanders told Urban not to peddle falsehoods on the air. Meanwhile, Tapper dryly noted that the president “has really thick skin,” emphasizing it with a sarcastic nod.

“No, he’s a tough guy — he can take it,” Urban argued. “Mick Mulvaney is a true patriot. Will he push back on the president, will be a good chief of staff and won’t be acting for very long. I’m sure he will be in that role for quite some time.”

Meanwhile, the president took to Twitter this morning to call on Saturday Night Live to be tried in court over jokes about him.
