WATCH: Fox News Cites Ocasio-Cortez’s Amazon Wish List To Paint Her As Hypocrite On Corporate Welfare

Republicans and right-wing media just can’t stop with its obsession over freshman Democratic Socialist Congresswoman-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — and she hasn’t even taken office yet!

With prominent conservative figures taking turns targeting AOC over her gaffes and perceived hypocrisy — and getting completely owned by the social media-savvy politician in the process — Fox News decided to take a swing at the progressive rising star. And they looked just as silly as her recent detractors.

During this morning’s Fox and Friends First, newsreader Tracee Carrasco delivered a report on “Liberal Hypocrisy,” highlighting New York Democrats who have been critical of Amazon receiving hundreds of millions of dollars in tax breaks to move a second headquarters to Queens.

Pointing to a New York Post report — the Post is also owned by Rupert Murdoch — Carrasco noted that “politicians like Senator Kristin Gillibrand and Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez use Amazon to order thousands of dollars to order supplies” and that Ocasio-Cortez even has an Amazon wish list. She also said that an AOC spokesperson told the Post that “it isn’t inconsistent for her to be Amazon customer while opposing the, quote, corporate warfare.”

“Interesting,” co-host Jillian Mele responded.

As Media Matters’ Parker Molloy tweeted after the segment aired, this revealed a new obsession by Fox when it comes to the 29-year-old soon-to-be Congresswoman while basically bringing to life a well-known comic strip.

That comic, by The Nib’s Matt Bors, shows a common argument used by certain right-wing ‘intellectuals’ to break the libs on the WHEEL OF LOGIC — that is, dismissing any complaints they may have by noting they are utilizing a certain product ot taking part in society.
