Megyn Kelly Parts Ways With Talent Agency And Hires A Hollywood Attorney

Talent agency CAA is no longer representing Megyn Kelly as a client. The major agency has ‘parted ways’ with the NBC personality following her comments on wearing blackface. Kelly asked on air why wearing blackface was racist and said it was fine when she was a child. She later apologized.

CAA has represented Kelly since 2015, when she was a prominent Fox News host. They managed her transition to NBC and have stuck by her despite a history of controversial comments. Kelly once claimed that Santa Claus is white, among a number of other headline-grabbing statements.

The exact circumstances of her departure are unclear. An NBC source told Page Six that Kelly was switching agencies because of ‘conflicts with her old agency, CAA, and NBC management’. However, her move from CAA was reported last night amid serious confusion.

Kelly had apparently planned to move to talent agency UTA before the controversy erupted but UTA has now refused to have her as a client. Kelly was close to signing a contract with UTA but her comments on blackface seem to have derailed her plans.

Kelly is facing serious consequences despite her apology. Rumours are circulating that her time with NBC is coming to an end, possibly by December this year. Kelly’s show, ‘Today’, is at risk of cancellation as Kelly is reportedly negotiating with NBC.

Separate reports suggest that Kelly has hired an attorney and that she will not host her show at 9am today. Kelly’s new attorney is Hollywood’s Bryan Freedman. This suggests she is preparing for a financial settlement with NBC that will allow them to part ways.
