Wolf Blitzer Signs Off By Reassuring Viewers CNN Will ‘Continue To Do Our Job…Despite These Threats’

At the end of a long and trying day, CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer let his viewers know that the network will not be cowed by the bomb scare that resulted in the channel’s New York offices being evacuated for hours.

The bomb mailed to the Time Warner Center was addressed to former CIA Director John Brennan, one of several explosive devices that were sent to prominent Democrats who have been critical of President Donald Trump. Others were addressed to the Clintons, President Barack Obama, liberal philanthropist George Soros, Rep. Maxine Waters, and former Attorney General Eric Holder. The package to Holder was sent to Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who was listed as the return addressee.

Signing off at the end of the Situation Room today, Blitzer had the following to say:

“Let me speak for myself and all of our CNN colleagues here in the United States and around the world. I want to reassure all of our viewers: We will continue to do our job to report the news fairly and accurately, despite these threats.”

Blitzer’s message comes after CNN Worldwide President Jeff Zucker slammed the president and White House, stating that they have a “lack of a complete understanding of the seriousness of their continued attacks on the media.”
