Laura Ingraham: ‘I Was Just Teasing’ LeBron James When I Told Him To ‘Shut Up And Dribble’

Remember when Fox News’ Laura Ingraham created a firestorm of controversy by telling LeBron James to “shut up and dribble”? Well, now she’s claiming that it was all just a little joke.

Discussing CNN’s recent segment in which political commentator Tara Setmayer called Kanye West a “token Negro” and Bakari Sellers said West was what “happens when Negroes don’t read,” Ingraham and West pal Candace Owens called the CNN contributors and anchor Don Lemon “absolutely intolerant” while somehow tying the comments to Democrats’ opinions towards black voters.

After Owens said she couldn’t believe any network would allow that to be said on air, Ingraham brought up the time she personally mocked James for speaking about politics and Trump.

“Imagine if a conservative host had a guest on that said something like that and laughed? There would be calls for boycotts,” Ingraham exclaimed. “I got in trouble with poor old LeBron James — I was just teasing him. And he said, you can’t say — it’s like you can’t joke but they can say the most horrific things possible and, you are shut down.”

Ingraham would then ask Owens what this means for the Democratic Party, adding that she believes they are worried while telling the rising conservative media star that she’s “broken through” in her own way in politics. Owens would reply that “black people are having an awakening” and Kanye West is one of the reasons why, stating that they understand that the left has hurt the black community.

It should be pointed out that Setmayer is a conservative who has worked as a communications directory Republican Congressman Dana Rohrabacher and was a host for Glenn Beck’s media outlet TheBlaze.
