Whoopi Goldberg: Trump ‘Has Enough Accusers To Know’ Why Women Don’t Come Forward

After drawing plaudits from the political media class for displaying measured restraint when it came to discussing Christine Blasey Ford, the president finally went on the attack this morning when he sent out a series of tweets going after the Brett Kavanaugh accuser.

“I have no doubt that, if the attack on Dr. Ford was as bad as she says, charges would have been immediately filed with local Law Enforcement Authorities by either her or her loving parents,” he wrote. “I ask that she bring those filings forward so that we can learn date, time, and place!”

With the president questioning why Dr. Blasey or her parents didn’t go to the FBI or local law enforcement 36 years ago after the alleged assault took place, the hosts of The View brought up Trump’s own history of women accusing him of sexual assault and harassment.

“He has enough accusers to know why people didn’t come forward,” Whoopi Goldberg exclaimed. “He’s heard it enough. We’ve heard this enough. Women don’t want to come forward because of exactly what’s happening.”

This was followed by fellow host Sunny Hostin pointing out the large percentage of women who don’t report rape and sexual assault because of the fear that they’ll either be blamed or no one will believe them.

Conservative host Abby Huntsman added that she had been “surprised” at how controlled Trump had been this week just an hour before he sent out his tweets, noting that she could “only imagine how frustrated Republican lawmakers are about this because this just turned the tide. I think this really changes the narrative — this tweet is a very big deal.”
