Michael Avenatti: ‘Entirely Unprofessional’ Tucker Carlson ‘Looked Terrible’ During Interview

Stormy Daniels lawyer and potential 2020 presidential candidate Michael Avenatti appeared on CNN’s Reliable Sources today to provide reaction to his much-discussed interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson. The interview between the two fiery personalities was highly anticipated as the Carlson had spent the past few months insulting the attorney on-air, labeling Avenatti the “Creepy Porn Lawyer” whenever talking about the media-savvy lawyer.

With Avenatti having already lashed out at Tucker following the Thursday night interview over the program’s decision to air numerous chyrons with the nickname even though Carlson said he wouldn’t use it during the segment, host Brian Stelter asked him why did he show up on the Fox News show in the first place.

“Well, Brian, if you’re going to be a fighter and you’re going to fight for the future of this country and lead the Democratic Party, then you can’t be ducking fights,” Avenatti responded. “And, frankly, sometimes you have to go into the belly of the beast, as they say, and take on some of these individuals, even if they’re entirely unprofessional like Tucker Carlson.”

Stelter wanted to know if Avenatti felt like he succeeded in what he felt was his strategy to take the fight to his enemy.

“Well, I think I did succeed because I think Tucker looked terrible coming out of that interview,” the attorney noted. “I mean, he constantly spoke over me. I thought the use of the creepy porn lawyer at the bottom of the screen — which I was not aware of at the time, otherwise, I would have called him out on it — I thought that was completely unprofessional and uncalled for. And I think that Tucker lost whatever modicum of respect as a journalist he had left as a result of that interview.”

Avenatti went on to state that Carlson had also reneged on an agreement to not interrupt him during the interview, causing Stelter to reply that if Avenatti was going to be a fighter he’s going to “have to get used to people interrupting you.”
