With Hurricane Florence Approaching, Trump Tweets That Jamie Dimon Isn’t Smart Enough To Be President

President Donald Trump has attacked JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon on Twitter. Dimon recently claimed that he could beat Trump in a presidential election, before walking back his comments.

“The problem with banker Jamie Dimon running for President is that he doesn’t have the aptitude or “smarts” & is a poor public speaker & nervous mess – otherwise he is wonderful. I’ve made a lot of bankers, and others, look much smarter than they are with my great economic policy!” Trump tweeted.

Trump’s decision to attack Dimon seems odd. Dimon claimed he could beat Trump, but has already issued a statement saying he has no intention of running for president.

“I should not have said it,” Dimon said. “I’m not running for President. Proves I wouldn’t make a good politician. I get frustrated because I want all sides to come together to help solve big problems.”

The timing of the President’s tweet has also been questioned, with Hurricane Florence bearing down on Florida and the Carolinas. After he attacked Dimon, Trump tweeted “We are completely ready for hurricane Florence, as the storm gets even larger and more powerful. Be careful!”
