Candace Owens Picks Fight With Mollie Tibbetts’ 2nd Cousin After Being Called Out For ‘Political Propaganda’

What the actual hell were you thinking, Candace?

After it was discovered that the man charged in the murder of Iowa college student Mollie Tibbetts was 24-year-old undocumented immigrant Christhian Rivera, it didn’t take long before a number of right-wing media folks and politicians began politicizing Tibbetts’ death and tying it directly to immigration. One of those who made sure to rack up retweets and likes from MAGA Nation with her hot takes was TPUSA communications director and budding conservative media star Candace Owens.

After tweeting out that leftists screamed when “illegal immigrants were temporarily separated from from (sic) their parents” but won’t do anything for Tibbetts, one mourning family member shot back and told Owens to take Mollie’s name out of her mouth.

“[H]ey i’m a member of mollie’s family and we are not so fucking small-minded that we generalize a whole population based on some bad individuals,” Sam, who says she is Mollie’s second cousin, tweeted at Owens. “[N]ow stop being a fucking snake and using my cousins (sic) death as political propaganda. take her name out of your mouth.”

She added in a second tweet, “[M]y whole family is hurting right now and you’re not helping. you’re despicable and this is so far from the loving and kind soul that mollie was. my prayers go out to you in hopes that maybe you’ll become a better person. not hedging my bets tho.”

So how did Candace respond? I think you know.

“I find it strange that you have directed obscenities and hate towards people that support the President,” Owens tweeted, “but you have not directed a single bad word toward the monster who committed this terrible crime.”

“I don’t have this mans (sic) twitter handle, or any way to contact him, but trust me, I have had nothing but evil thoughts about this man,” Sam responded. “HE is a devil. That doesn’t mean that everyone like him is. I think it’s despicable that you’re using her death to push a political agenda.”

Owens wouldn’t quit, though.

Owens picking a fight with a family member of Tibbetts’ caused quite a bit of disgust, as you would imagine.

Tibbetts’ second cousin calling out Owens for using xenophobia to transparently politicize Mollie’s murder comes after Tibbetts’ aunt delivered the following message on Facebook:

“Please remember, Evil comes in EVERY color. Our family has been blessed to be surrounded by love, friendship and support throughout this entire ordeal by friends from all different nations and races. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.”

Meanwhile, as conservative media pushes the Tibbett murder to the forefront of the news cycle to both whip up racial and ethnic anger and distract from the Michael Cohen-Paul Manafort news, it has been reported that Rivera was working legally in Iowa at a farm that is owned by the family of prominent Republican Craig Lang.

  1. The right have no shame.. Nor humanity.

How does Candace Owens explain the murders of a woman and her children by a white, non immigrant American man – Chris Watts?

When it comes to women being murdered by men the discussion should be about misogyny, not race.

It’s funny how right wingers moan about immigrants whilst secretly employing them.
