Trump Attorney Rudy Giuliani: ‘Truth Isn’t Truth’

“Truth isn’t truth.”

That is the latest Giulianism that Trump lawyer and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani tossed out when he tangled with Meet the Press host Chuck Todd and claimed that the Trump legal team wasn’t responsible for delaying an interview between the president and Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

After Todd brought up the shifting explanations and goalpost moving that Giuliani has engaged in over the past few months when it has come to arranging an interview between Trump and Mueller, the anchor asked Giuliani how he believed the delay in negotiations was on the Mueller team.

“Each time by three or four days so we could write a letter in response,” America’s Mayor responded. “They have taken two to three weeks to get back to us. What I have to tell you is, look, I am not going to be rushed into having him testify, so he gets trapped into perjury.”

He continued, “When you tell me that, you know, he should testify because he is going to tell the truth and he shouldn’t worry, that’s silly because it’s somebody’s version of the truth. Not the truth. He didn’t have a conversation…”

Todd interjected, “Truth is truth. I don’t mean to go like –”

“No, no, it isn’t truth!” Giuliani exclaimed. “Truth isn’t truth!”

And with that, Todd just lost it, burying his head in his hands, knowing that this moment will be replayed on cable news ad nauseam.

“Truth isn’t truth?” the NBC News host stated. “Mr. Mayor, do you realize — this is going to become a bad meme.”

Giuliani then begged Todd “don’t do this to me,” causing Todd to reply “don’t do truth isn’t truth to me.”

It is a given that this is going to live on like Kellyanne Conway’s infamous “alternative facts” declaration.
