Fox Business Guest: NFL Players Should ‘Shut Up And Play Ball’ And Stop Protesting

You would’ve thought a lesson was learned after Fox News’ Laura Ingraham was absolutely excoriated — and her target flipped the script on her — for telling LeBron James to “shut up and dribble” and stop “talking politics.”

But, nope.

With the president turning his attention once again towards NFL players protesting racial injustice and police brutality by kneeling during the national anthem, Trump boosting Fox Business host Lou Dobbs devoted airtime to the subject on Friday. And his guest to discuss the topic was Trump Media Advisory Board member and frequent Fox guest Gina Loudon, who immediately parroted the president’s recent rhetoric about the demonstrations.

“What were they protesting again, Lou?” Loudon asked Dobbs. “Can you even remember? Because I kind of feel like maybe they’re protesting protesting. Because I don’t think anybody is aware of exactly what it is they’re protesting.”

In his Friday morning tweets after a number of athletes kneeled prior to Thursday preseason games, Trump said that the players “wanted to show their ‘outrage’ at something that most of them are unable to define.” He also told them to find “another way to protest” or be “Suspended Without Pay!”

“And I think the president made the most poignant point, and that is there are other ways to protest,” she added. “Shut up and play ball. I mean, that’s really how I feel — I mean, the president didn’t say that part, — I’m saying that.”

She concluded her point by asking why they don’t just “do what they were hired to do, and be actual professionals.”
