Rick Wilson Calls Out ‘Chickenshit’ Republicans Who Can’t Stand ‘Asshole’ Trump But Won’t Do Anything

Republican strategist and prominent Never Trumper Rick Wilson forced the Morning Joe control room to use the seven-second-delay Monday morning as he unleashed a profanity-laced tirade against cowardly Republicans who refuse to stand up to President Donald Trump despite expressing their disdain for the president in private.

Promoting his new book Everything Trump Touches Dies: A Republican Strategist Gets Real About the Worst President Ever, Wilson was asked about Trump’s high approval rating among Republicans and what that means for the GOP.

Wilson responded by noting that “cocaine is a helluva drug” before stating that Republicans love the fact that Trump gives them the ability to say “the ugly things” they really feel in their hearts, adding that the “monster got out of its cage.” Then the audio cut out for a few seconds.

After the sound came back, co-host Mika Brzezinski exclaimed: “Are you saying that on TV?!”

Shortly after the segment ended, Wilson took to Twitter to point out what he said that caused the producers to hit the censor button on him.

“Washington is full of profiles in chickenshit,” Wilson relayed what he said on Morning Joe. “You and I both get calls from members of Congress who say I can’t stand this asshole.”

With a hearty laugh, Wilson told Mika he “wasn’t trying to” go blue during the interview, leading co-host Joe Scarborough to explain they were forced to use the delay on the GOP strategist and that Wilson owed him dinner.
