Fox Anchor Bret Baier’s Trump Interview Beats Maddow In Demo On Wednesday

Besides leading cable news ratings across the board on Wednesday, the network boasted the four most-watched programs in the key 25-54 demographic as 6 PM newscast Special Report drew primetime-level ratings due to Bret Baier’s interview with President Trump.

According to Nielsen, Special Report with Bret Baier averaged 532,000 in the key demo and 2.577 million total viewers, placing fourth overall in the demographic and fifth in total viewers. The demo number actually beat MSNBC’s top-rated program The Rachel Maddow Show, which airs at 9 PM. Maddow attracted 530,000 demo viewers and a total audience of 2.767 million.

During the primetime 8 PM to 11 PM hours, Fox News drew 3.18 million total viewers and 635,000 in the demo. MSNBC placed second in both metrics, pulling in 2.277 million viewers overall and 456,000 in the demographic. CNN nabbed a total audience of 941,000 and 294,000 in the demo.

For total day, Fox attracted 328,000 in the 25-54 demo and 1.628 million total viewers. MSNBC averaged a total viewership of 1.058 million and 227,000 in the demographic. CNN nabbed a demo audience of 185,000 and 613,000 viewers overall.

The most-watched program of the day was Fox’s Hannity, which led the way in both total viewers (3.523 million) and the key demo (697,000). FNC’s The Ingraham Angle placed second overall in total viewership (3.109 million) and the demographic (617,000).

The top-rated CNN show on Wednesday was Cuomo Prime Time, which pulled in 990,000 total viewers. The 10 PM broadcast of CNN Tonight led the network in the demo with 297,000.
