White House Adviser Peter Navarro: ‘Special Place In Hell’ For ‘Bad Faith’ Justin Trudeau

Looks like we have our messaging from the White House when it comes to longtime American ally and northern neighbor Canada — they can go to hell.

After departing the G7 summit and on his way to Singapore for the summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, President Donald Trump lit into Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau after Trudeau stated that Canada wouldn’t “be pushed around” in the wake of new U.S. tariffs. In a couple of tweets, the president called the leader of America’s closest ally “meek and “mild” while accusing him if making “false statements,” all while refusing to sign on to the G7 leaders’ communique.

During an appearance on Fox News Sunday, White House trade adviser Peter Navarro was asked by host Chris Wallace if this was really how America wants to deal with its second largest trading partner. Navarro, in a Trumpian flourish, made sure he made the boss happy by completely trashing Trudeau.

“There’s a special place in hell for any foreign leader who engages in bad diplomacy with president Donald J. Trump and then tries to stop them in the back on the way out the door,” Navarro exclaimed. “And that’s what bad faith Justin Trudeau did with that stunt press conference.”

He continued, “But that’s what weak dishonest Justin Trudeau did. And that comes right from Air Force One. I will tell you this, to my friends in Canada, that was one of the worst political miscalculations of a Canadian leader in modern Canadian history. All Justin Trudeau had to do was take the win.”

Navarro, speaking to an audience of one, went on to call the communique a “socialist document” while noting that Trump had better things to do than spend two days at the G7 summit.

Navarro’s interview came on the same morning as chief economic adviser Larry Kudlow calling on Trudeau to apologize to Trump for attempting to make him look weak ahead of the North Korea summit. Kudlow would also claim that the prime minister “stabbed us in the back” while calling Trudeau “sophomoric.”
