Hannity Calls For Mueller Witnesses To Destroy Evidence: ‘Bash’ Your Phones Into ‘Itsy Bitsy Pieces’
Fox News host and White House shadow chief of staff Sean Hannity seemed a bit freaked out over the recent news that Special Counsel Robert Mueller was asking witnesses in the Russia probe to turn over their personal phones so investigators can inspect them. How freaked out? The Trump-supporting conservative commentator straight up told Mueller witnesses to take a hammer to their devices.
During Wednesday night’s opening monologue, the Fox primetime host railed against the Mueller probe and how it is a huge witch hunt, as he is wont to do. He then got to the report about the special counsel asking for phones.
Noting that Mueller wants the phones so he can examine conversation on encrypted apps like Signal and WhatsApp, Hannity then told the witnesses they needed to “follow Hillary Clinton’s lead.”
“Delete all your emails and then acid wash the emails and the hard drives on your phones,” he exclaimed. “Then take your phones and bash them with a hammer into little itsy bitsy pieces — use BleachBit — remove the sim cards and then hand them over to Robert Mueller and then say ‘Hillary Rodham Clinton, this is equal justice under the law.’”
He added, “How do you think that would work out for everybody who Mueller’s demanding their phones of tonight? I’m certain the result would not be the same as Hillary’s.”
Later on in the broadcast, Hannity once again brought up his piece of advice while talking to Fox News legal analyst and Sean Hannity Expanded Universe player Gregg Jarrett. This time around, he said he was “just kidding.”
He just said it again, but this time said he was "just kidding" and that it's "bad advice"….but then still told them to do it pic.twitter.com/HouMUyqLfv
