Sarah Sanders Uses Question About Roseanne To Read Off List Of Trump’s Media Grievances

In the immediate aftermath of comedian Roseanne Barr losing her hit sitcom revival following her blatantly racist and anti-Semitic tweets, President Donald Trump remained silent about the issue even though he held a Tuesday night rally in which he touched on a wide range of topics. Trump, of course, personally congratulated Barr just a couple months ago over her show’s ratings while telling his supporters at that time the program was a success because it was about Trump supporters.

The president broke his silence on Wednesday on the matter. Trump, however, didn’t seem all that concerned with Roseanne’s racist remarks, instead taking the opportunity to whine about Disney CEO Bob Iger contacting Valerie Jarrett to apologize, wondering where his phone call was regarding ABC employees “HORRIBLE statements” about him.

During Wednesday’s White House press briefing, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked by NBC News’ Kelly O’Donnell if Trump had spoken to Barr yet, considering they are longtime friends. O’Donnell also wanted to know why the president addressed the apology rather than Barr’s comments.

“I’m not aware of any conversations that have taken place,” Sanders said in response. “The president’s simply calling out the media bias. No one’s defending what she said. The president is the president of all Americans and he’s focused on doing what is best for our country.”

After that, Sanders took the opportunity to chastise certain media outlets for not providing live coverage of the president’s Wednesday bill signing. Then, she began to read from a list of the president’s grievances against ABC/ESPN/whoever:

“The president is pointing to the hypocrisy in the media saying that the most horrible things about this president and nobody addresses it. Where was Bob Iger‘s apology to the White House staff for Jemele Hill calling the president and anyone associated with him a white supremacist? To Christians around the world for Joy Behar calling Christianity a mental illness? Where was the apology for Kathy Griffin going on a profane rant against the president on The View after a photo showed her holding President Trump’s decapitated head? And where was the apology from Bob Iger for ESPN hiring Keith Olbermann after his numerous expletive-laced tweets attacking the president as a Nazi and even expanding his role after that attack against the president’s family?”

The press secretary wrapped it up by saying Trump’s demand for his own apology was all about “a double standard that the president is speaking about,” while also tossing in that no one is defending Barr’s remarks.

Anyway, watch Sanders air the president’s grievances above, via CNN.
