Rally Crowd Boos Cancer-Stricken John McCain After Trump Eggs Them On

President Donald Trump traveled to Nashville, Tennessee, Tuesday night to ostensibly promote the candidacy of GOP Senate hopeful Marsha Blackburn. But, come on, you know it was just an opportunity for Trump to get in front of a red state crowd to deliver some of his favorite lines as he soaked up the adulation of his supporters.

And, that’s exactly what we got. Tossing in some new tracks (MS-13) with the old chestnuts (Crooked Hillary), the president just rambled on and on and on, delivering grievance after grievance, looking to settle scores. At one point, that led him down the path of egging on the crowd to jeer a terminally-ill senator.

As we’ve seen from the president several times in the past, he’s none too pleased with Sen. John McCain’s now-iconic late-night thumbs down in voting against the GOP’s “skinny repeal” of Obamacare. And just as he’s done before, the president whipped up a crowd full of hardcore supporters to boo the cancer-stricken McCain for not giving Trump his much-desired legislative victory.

“It was done — and then someone early in the morning turned their hand in the wrong direction,” the president told the Nashville crowd as they booed. “That cost our country a lot. That was a very, very terrible thing that happened that night. That cost out country $1 trillion in entitlement savings.”

He wasn’t done: “That cost us a lot, and nobody knew that was going to happen, because we had it done. REPEAL AND REPLACE! And the person who voted that way, only talked repeal and replace! He campaigned on it!”

Trump going after McCain (again) comes in the wake of a controversy over White House aide Kelly Sadler joking McCain’s “dying anyway” while brushing off the Arizona lawmaker’s opposition to now-CIA Director Gina Haspel. Recently, it was reported that Trump pressed Sadler to tell him who he thought leaked her joke, letting her know that he was no fan of McCain’s.

And one wonders why McCain doesn’t want the president anywhere near his funeral.

Below is a clip of Trump’s comments.

  1. Every plan trump announces has one thing in common. They are all like Mother Hubbard’s nightgown. It covers everything but touches nothing.
