Republican Ad In Missouri Claims Hillary Clinton Will Win

A new Republican ad running in Missouri claims Hillary Clinton will win the White House in November. The ad supports GOP Senator Roy Blunt and warns voters not to elect his Democratic opponent because that would only help Clinton’s agenda.

The ad was produced by the Senate Leadership Fund, a committee run by allies of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. This looks like the Republican Party’s new tactic : warn voters that a Clinton presidency is coming and encourage them to vote for Republican down ballot candidates as ‘checks and balances’ on the Democrat.

Senator Blunt’s Democratic opponent Jason Kander is shown as a Hillary Clinton clone who will help her implement her agenda. GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump is far behind in the polls nationally and he is struggling in crucial swing states. Trump is even losing ground in deep red states like Georgia and Arizona.

Trump will deliver a speech in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania today outlining his first 100 days in office. Trump and his surrogates continue to suggest the election will be unfair and that the GOP establishment is betraying Trump. Ads like the one in Missouri won’t help that image.

House Speaker Paul Ryan is focused on retaining Republican control of Congress. The Democrats now have a high chance of taking back the Senate but the party would need to win 30 seats to flip the House. Though this is unlikely, Republican officials are worried about a ‘Trump effect’ on down ballot races.
