Seth Meyers Mocks Trump’s Paranoid Campaign: He’ll Give A Victory Speech Even If He Loses

With Donald Trump seeming to spiral out of control, Seth Meyers doesn’t think the campaign is ready to cope with defeat. Trump is now further behind than at any point during the campaign but his attacks on the media and continued denial of any wrongdoing are only making matters worse.

Meyers criticized Kellyanne Conway, Trump’s campaign manager, who has repeatedly claimed that Hillary Clinton is only doing so well because she is a woman.” What are you talking about?” Meyers said. “You think Hillary should be farther ahead because she’s running as the first female president? If running as the first female president was an advantage, it probably would have happened before 2016.”

The Trump campaign’s attempts to defend every single controversy as either overblown or a lie didn’t impress Meyers either. Trump’s determination that he is winning makes it doubtful he’ll be able to accept defeat. “I’m pretty sure now matter how badly Trump does on Election Day, he’s still going to give a victory speech,” Meyers said. “People said an outsider couldn’t win in this country, but tell that to Mississippi.”

Meyers said Trump once again criticized the media and called on Clinton to be jailed. Meyers refused to believe that ‘lock her up’ was a quip, as VP candidate Mike Pence suggested.

“Take it from the expert on quips, Mike Pence,” Meyers said. “He just doesn’t seem like a jokester to me. I get the feeling that if you went up to Mike Pence and said, pull my finger, he’d rip it off your hand and beat you to death with it.”
