Seth Meyers: Trump’s Rallies Are Like Episodes Of The Maury Povich Show

Seth Meyers turned his attention to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign last night. Meyers used a segment on Late Night to mock Trump’s bizarre rallies and hammer him again about his taxes. Trump has still not released his tax returns.

Meyers discussed the rally where Trump impersonated Hillary Clinton’s illness and her early exit from a 9/11 memorial in New York. He also claimed Clinton was not faithful to Bill. “That’s a shocked crowd reacting to a baseless accusation of infidelity,” Meyers said. “Trump rallies have just become episodes of the Maury Povich Show. Of course, Trump’s own first marriage ended when he cheated on her with his eventual second wife so you might think maybe this isn’t the best argument for Trump to make. That’s why the Trump campaign sent their best man, Rudy Giuliani, to go on TV and make it again.”

Meyers showed Giuliani answering an interviewer by saying “Well, that’s your opinion.” Meyers couldn’t let that go. “Trump’s campaign is such a cluster fart they’ve been reduced to quoting The Dude,” Meyers said. “When we all know, the only ‘Big Lebowski’ line that should be quoted this election season is ‘Shut the fuck up, Donnie.”

Meyers then took aim at Trump for claiming he cleverly used tax laws to avoid paying taxes. “Okay, first of all, you didn’t use them,” Meyers said. “You hired lawyers and accountants to use them. I can’t see Trump up all night wearing a green visor and crunching numbers on a calculator. Also, his argument doesn’t make any sense because these weren’t business taxes, they were his personal income taxes.”
