Ivanka Trump Says Her Father Can’t Be Sexist Because He Hired Her To Work For Him

During a cushy soft interview conducted by CNN’s Gloria Borger, Ivanka Trump came to her pop’s defense regarding the accusations that he’s a sexist. In her opinion, this is just blatantly untrue because he’s hired many women in his business. As a prime example, she points to herself.

“He’s absolutely not a sexist. There’s no way I could be the person I am today if my father was a sexist. I would not be one of his senior-most executives. I would not be working shoulder-to-shoulder with my brothers. I would be working for my brothers, if at all.”

She also noted that Donald Trump has a 40-year history of hiring women, proving he isn’t sexist or misogynist. When asked by Borger about some of the many insults he’s directed at women, specifically regarding their personal appearance, Ivanka merely brushed it off as just who he is, claiming that he’s just as hard on men.

It is nice to see that Ivanka can highlight her father’s blatant nepotism to show that he really, deeply, truly cares about women. As we’ve heard in the past, he “cherishes” women, which is totally not demeaning and patronizing. Not at all.

Meanwhile, The Donald continues to use his Twitter account, rallies and media appearances to hurl nasty invective towards women who don’t bow down to him. Recently, he’s taken to calling MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski “neurotic,” “crazy,” “very dumb” and suffering “a mental breakdown.” Megyn Kelly was obviously having her period when she asked him a tough question about his history of sexism at a debate. Elizabeth Warren is a “goofy” “Pocahontas.” Rosie O’Donnell is a “fat pig,” among other things. Arianna Huffington is “unattractive,” which is why her husband left her for a man.

But, of course, this is all forgiven because he hired the daughter he’d really like to bang.
