Steve Bannon ‘Doesn’t Like Jews’ Because Their Kids Are ‘Whiney Brats’

Trump campaign CEO Steve Bannon is facing accusations of antisemitism following the release of court documents. The recent reports that Bannon assaulted his wife brought the documents from a 2007 court case to light. Bannon’ former wife, Mary Louise Piccard, claimed he held anti-Jewish views.

Piccard made a sworn deposition saying that Bannon didn’t want their daughters attending a Los Angeles school because he ‘didn’t want the girls going to school with Jews’. “He said he doesn’t like Jews and that he doesn’t like the way they raise their kids to be ‘whiney brats,’” Piccard told the court.

While Bannon has denied the claims through a spokesperson, his ex-wife made the claims under oath. If Bannon and the Trump campaign accuse Piccard of lying under oath, that could have serious legal implications. Bannon’s leadership of Breitbart.com has already brought accusations of race baiting and antisemitism. The website has run headlines calling a conservative commentator a ‘renegade Jew’.

Donald Trump has already struggled with Jewish voters, who are a small but important constituency in the general election. His popularity with the often antisemitic alt-right and white supremacists has worried Jewish voters. Trump also shared a meme attacking Hillary Clinton which originated with a well-known antisemitic internet group.

Revelations about Bannon have surfaced since he became the Trump campaign’s CEO. Several outlets report that he goes on swear-laden rants, hurls personal insults and is very difficult to work with. As more information emerges about Bannon, Trump’s association with Breitbart.com and the alt-right may dominate the campaign.
