Trump Style Tantrum: Many Texans Want To Secede If Hillary Clinton Wins

Since it’s impossible for an entire state to move to Canada, many Texan supporters of Donald Trump want to circle their wagons and separate from the United States If Hillary Clinton wins the White House in November.

According to a recent PPP poll, Trump leads Clinton among the secession crowd by a jaw-dropping 70/20 percent advantage, with 61 percent of those folks vowing to pursue secession again if she becomes president. But in the general population, Trump’s lead is much smaller and there is only 26 percent support for separating from the nation.

Secessionism runs deep in the state’s history going back to the civil war, but in the twenty-first century it was contained to a few isolated organizations until President Barack Obama was elected in 2008.  Then the movement soared when he was re-elected in 2012.

Secessionists gained over 125,000 petition signatures supporting their pointless effort to get away from Obama and many of his policies, like affordable healthcare for all.  Pointless, because the US Constitution doesn’t allow for states to leave the union and it would require a specific amendment to become legally possible.

Therefore, zealous Texans and Trump supporters have the right to threaten secession every time the extremist minority gets cranky over something that isn’t to their liking under the guise of “government overreach” or the potential win of a presidential candidate, but it will still be legally pointless.

Sure, Trump supporters can line up and sign petitions to secede all they want, but why do that, when they can just move across the border to Mexico and live among the people he “loves”?

Watch Texas Gov. Rick Perry in 2013 whine about the “erosion” of the “10th amendment” that prevents “millions of Texans” from being free from “DC telling us how to run Texas.”
